Physicists Rebuilding the Tesla Tower for Planetary Energy Transmission

Probably the best physics project I’ve seen in a long while. Resorting to old British vernacular the best word I can come up with is “stonking”!

The Department of Defense here in the US have been working from Mr. Tesla’s papers. You don’t want to know what they have been doing.

  2. Interesting concept. It would certainly shift the power in world if energy was free. What are some of the negative impacts that have been anticipated?

    • That’s a whole can of worms you’re trying to open there Colleen. πŸ™‚ As with all game-changing technologies there will be plenty of people who will try to abuse it to their own ends. The energy is only free in the sense that the fuel is free. The rest will all cost major bucks. Whoever controls the harvesters, the towers and the onward distribution systems will control the cost. I can also imagine that there will be ways to disrupt the system so that it can be held to ransom. But I still like the idea very much. If only it weren’t for the pesky human factor. I haven’t looked at the environmental impacts yet. I hope the project designers are including that in their studies…

  3. Brilliant idea…The power companies won’t let it happen $$$$$$$$$$$ Even if it’s the perfect answer to our problems. They must be having fits over the thought of it.

  4. What an interesting project and if visiting Mars is possible this should too, however I wonder how strong the waves will need to be and how they might affect life on earth as we know it. “They” tell us to leave our mobile phones at least a meter away when we’re asleep to avoid “radiation” etc, hm, won’t know where the waves are if this comes along and so will we wear protective undergarments at least πŸ˜€

    • I guess the pilot studies will look into the environmental impacts, or maybe not. 😦 As with mobile phones, the safety studies might come _after_ the technology has been implemented. I like the idea of protective undergarments – would they be coated in tin foil? πŸ˜‰
