Spring Has Definitely Sprung

In my Irish garden, the snowdrops, dafodills and fritillaries have gone over. In the last few days the rest of the plants have put on a huge amount of growth. I took all of these photos yesterday evening.

  1. Thanks for sharing. We’re still waiting for Spring to sprung here. Rainy and cold seems to be the only thing the weatherman can come up with for our weather. I got excited the other day when thunderstorms were forecast. Nothing like a little variety to lift the mood on a cloudy day. šŸ˜€

    • Is this unusual for your area, or is Spring usually later than elsewhere?
I think I would be glad of thunderstorms in that situation too. šŸ™‚

      • Anything is possible here in the spring. 80’s (F) or 40’s. Rain, snow, hail. It’s actually better this way — the plants are slow to bloom. We’ve had years that it is 70;s and 80;s in March — the apple trees and other plants are in full bloom then we get hard frosts and the crops are lost. The lack of sunshine after so many months of winter just makes it depressing. But it could easily be 90 at any time. The weather is never boring here. I will just have to cheer myself up by “visiting” your garden often. ::D

      • The last few summers here have been really nice but prior to that it was usual to not see the sun at all for most of June, July and August – wall-to-wall grey every day. So I know how depressing that can be. šŸ˜¦ I’m glad to share some Irish green with you. šŸ™‚ I wanted to capture it before the slugs realise that it’s party-time. Every looks so fresh and pristine now I just had to record it.
